Experience
I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Mathematics and Biology. After graduation, I began teaching and discovered I truly enjoyed it. I added a third major to my list by taking education courses, and later earned a Master of Science in Biology. As an educator, I've taught biology and mathematics courses in junior high through college. Though I am able to tutor many subjects (including many forms of math such as Pre-Calc and Trigonometry, and natural sciences like Biology), my favorite subject for tutoring is Algebra. It is amazing to see students use the fundamental principles from elementary classes in more complicated ways. I am also very fond of Biology. Students are often amazed and intrigued by seeing the building blocks of living things, and these lessons quickly become entertaining and fun. My teaching method is very cooperative. I work with the students to discover their individual learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses. We then build upon the strengths to create a strong foundation in the subject we are studying. In my personal life, I enjoy cooking, sewing, and reading. I love all sorts of textile work, from crochet to quilting. I also love discovering new dishes from various cultures. As for reading, I'll page through almost anything. My favorites are biographies, mysteries, and science fiction/fantasy.
